Everything Is Teaching Us: Chimera # 8
I live near a river, where it meets the sea.
You can walk upstream, through the valley, to the mountaintop.
It looks like a geographic model.
You can see the whole cycle.
Water meets everything.
This work comes from a study of interrupted waterways.
Rivers and creeks that have been impeded.
Their distorted forms.
Lao Tzu wrote that it’s -
Best to be like water,
Which benefits the ten thousand things
And does not contend.
It pools where humans disdain to dwell,
In this way it is close to the Tao.
